NPF: We Did Not Withdraw Police Aides From Politicians

The Nigeria Police Force has denied reports of withdrawing police aides from certain politicians and their relatives.

Force public relations officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi stated that the report is fake and did not originate from the force or any of its formations.

CSP Adejobi further explained that the signal deviates from the standard Police telegraphic message structure, as it bears the signature of a Deputy Commissioner of Police, which is unusual. Typically, such a signal would be signed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police who heads those formations, not a higher-ranking officer.

In the meantime, Acting Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has ordered a thorough investigation to uncover the source of the report and assured that appropriate action will be taken against those responsible for drafting and disseminating the false signal
